Program Overview

What is the Walmart Retail Program?

The Humana Walmart/Sam’s Club Retail Program places independent Medicare agents inside participating stores during AEP. Agents staff an approved table, speak with customers about Medicare options, and conduct enrollment appointments on-site.

🏪

Retail Visibility

Meet Medicare-eligible consumers in familiar, high-traffic community locations.

🗓️

20-Hour Minimum

The weekly staffing requirement has been reduced from 30 hours to 20 hours.

📈

Flat Store Fees

A new tier-based flat-fee model replaces the prior per-enrollment structure.

☀️

SunFire Reporting

Retail enrollments must be submitted through the Walmart-specific SunFire instance.

AEP 2027 Updates

What is changing this year?

The program has been updated to improve cost predictability, reduce weekly staffing demands, strengthen reporting, and make store allocation more strategic.

New flat-fee cost structure
The previous per-enrollment fee model has been replaced by a flat fee based on the store’s assigned performance tier. This creates clearer cost expectations and reduces the risk of a large variable invoice after AEP.
Reduced weekly hour requirement
Agents must staff their assigned location for at least 20 hours per week, down from the former 30-hour minimum.
Mandatory Walmart SunFire reporting
All enrollments must be processed through the Walmart-specific SunFire retail instance, separate from an agent’s standard SunFire account. Training support and walkthroughs are expected.
Improved store selection process
Store assignments may consider prior agent performance and agency growth scorecards in addition to submission timing.
